- Some Cajun seasoning brands have a lot of salt. Make sure to taste adjust your seasoning, you may need less salt than stated in the recipe.

“Did not make it keto-friendly first round! I chopped up the chicken into bite-size pieces after it was done cooking, boiled up some pasta, and mixed it all together!! Yummy” – Nathalie
“Browned the chicken slightly with some spices before adding to slow cooker. Added some egg noodles at the end for a complete meal. Easy and good recipe!” – Gabrielle

Flavor was alright but this needs to be thickened.

For my family of 6 i doubled the the sauce recipe & thickened sauce at the end with roux (2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp seasoned flour) & 1 tbsp corn starch slurry.I only added 1/4 of the Cajun seasoning. This was so darn delicious! We all devoured it!

This dish was perfect. My daughter had been bothering me to make chicken Alfredo and making Alfredo sauce is not my specialty but my daughter loved it. Nice recipe!

My Husband and I loved this, there were no leftovers! I tweaked some things, 1. I cooked the chicken first witht the seasonings and then shredded it. Then i used half of the liquid ingredients, added half a block of cream cheese and finish it off by adding some cooked egg noodles. Yum!

I make this once a week, it’s so good. One of the easiest and tastiest crockpot recipes I’ve made. I do add half a block of cream cheese and fettuccine noodles, the sauce is just right that way.

Knocked off a couple of stars for 2 reasons: Waaaaay to hot 🥵, and "soupy" (needs to be thickened). I already cut the red pepper amount in half - and I kind of knew in my gut it was still going to be too spicy. I thought 2 c of cream was on the heavy side for us, so I reduced both liquids to half the amount. 1 1/2 hrs before the end of cooking - I added carrots into the liquid with the chicken, and broccoli on top (did not immerse). When the broccoli was cooked just right - I realized it was just way too soupy. I had to remove the liquid and add it to a basic roux I prepared on the stove top. That really wasn't a big deal -- took just a few minutes. I then added it back to the slow cooker - and served it (I added 1/2 c of wine to my sauce since I had it on the stove top - I figured why not). It's good tasting - not extraordinary due to the uber spiciness. I wish I had omitted the red pepper flakes all together, and then added 1/4 tsp to the sauce when I added the veggies. I also wish I had had another cheese on hand to add to the sauce (Swiss would have been REALLY good with this). I'll try it again and add more cheese next time - along with reconfiguring the liquid content so that it's a bit thicker. :). Don't reject this recipe for my reasons alone - my crockpot creates a lot of steam, which is part of the problem.. and reducing spice is no big deal. :)

So rich! I did hack the sauce based on comments and made it quite thick. Reduced my chicken broth on the stove to a half cup. Only added one cup of cream. Added about 8 oz of whipped cream cheese. Warmed all the sauce ingredients on the stove to blend. Used 1 T of salt free Cajun blend. Important since the cheese makes it very salty. I did add a little arrowroot powder for insurance but probably not necessary. Also added broccoli the last hour.

Pretty good. I added a frozen bag of peppers and onions for more vegetables and only because I had to use I browned some ground beef in the instant pot prior, didn’t add butter, still added chicken and it was pretty damn good. I would add some hot sauce or more red pepper next time to raise spice level but I like hot stuff. Thanks.

Very good. I added noodles at the end as suggested in another post and the sauce thickened nicely.

The flavor is great, but a little spicy for me. I added a block of cream cheese and some extra Parmesan to tone down the spice and thicken up the sauce. After reading reviews, I also used 2lbs of chicken and some additional broccoli to avoid all the excess sauce. PHENOMENAL!

I followed recipe with a few changes. I dipped chicken in flour seasoned with paprika, seasoning salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. Used 1 1/2 cups of unsalted chicken stock. Added chicken stock came up to sides of chicken. Add chopped sundried tomatoes and capers, chopped fresh chives, butter. Cooked on high for 4 hours. Added cream last 45 minutes and squeezed in some fresh lemon and 1/3 cup of parmigiana cheese. Served over fresh cheese ravioli. Made broccoli separate and served it along side. Sauce thickens wonderfully and was a beautiful golden color. The flour from chicken thickens it. I believe this is a crockpot version of chicken piccata. Amazing !

Good taste but as Jennifer stated there is a great deal of sauce and very liquidy!! Needs to be thickened but wasn’t sure how to. I did try to add a tad of cream cheese but probably didn’t add enough. Also my color was white and not golden like picture. Just ok. Kinda disappointed

Very good but my husband is a VERY picky eater and this is one thing he actually ate and liked...but it was a lot of sauce and so how can I thicken it up w/o messing up the taste too much

Thanks for posting such a great recipe! Really yummy, my very picky family loved it! The sauce was way too runny, but it tasted so good that it didn’t matter. I like the idea of cooking pasta to thicken the sauce; do you think it would work with gluten-free pasta? This would also rock over mashed potatoes!

I just finished making it and used half & half, I wish I read the bottom section about adding it later like most dairy items in a crock pot because it separated and looks a bit strange. Hoping I can add flour and maybe more cheese to thicken it and even it out..

Kept the lid off the last hour and cooked longer than stated to try and reduce the sauce as there is a lot and it’s very watery but the taste is unreal. The broccoli does disappear but i love the texture it gives. Could easily do as others say and add more broccoli near the end or add pasta which seems like would make a perfect dish from it. The taste was a winner with the entire family so will be a regular meal here now.

The whole family enjoyed- kids range from age 8-13. I read prior reviews and only did 1 tbsp of Cajun seasoning and it was perfect. I added broccoli the last 15 minutes of cooking and served over bow tie pasta. I also did close to 2 lbs of chicken which equates to 3 large chicken breasts. Yummy! Enjoyed by all.

Not to bad. I was expecting something a little different, it is good but I do recommend adding your own kick to it, I seasoned my chicken good before adding it to the crock pot, I also used a Parmesan seasoning about half way into cooking, and also some sharp cheddar cheese that was pre shredded. It does turn out with a lot of sauce so I cooked spaghetti noodles and added them to the crock pot and let it soak together for about 15 minutes.

It was good, but not all cajun spice is created equal, they very greatly in salt content. I have two, one is 50mg per 1/4 tsp, the other with approximatly 200mg per 1/4 tsp. I did not have enough of the seasoning with the lower salt content, so i used the higher content one. It came out a bit salty. Otherwise it was good.

I added a box of cooked penne, it soaked up the sauce perfectly. I found it was too spicy, so next time I will cut the Cajun seasoning by half. Otherwise, it’s an easy and tasty recipe

This was tasty, but there was way too much sauce. I knew when measuring 2 whole cups of cream for a crock pot and one whole cup of broth that it seemed unreasonable, but I went with it. I hope all of this yummy alfredo sauce doesn't separate when I freeze it because it would be sad to waste all of the spicy-yummy-creaminess.
